I can feel the smell of the Amazon as I’m landing. It’s not just in the air; it’s a state of mind that has been leading me back to the openness and vastness of this region for many years.
From the very start we get lost with my students in this labyrinthine place, we go into seedy bars where porters spend their small earnings to get wasted with cheap booze that a very sweet Chinese owner serves them till they drop!
We climb in and out of many boats unloading and loading their cargo. We share with the natives what they still remember of their tribal past. We just go with the daily flow!
I am here for reasons that I don’t even know for sure what they are!
Until I will manage to come back I’ll return to find the answers! EB
