Once more to Peru. These trips with Ernesto (9 times to Peru) have made this land part of my soul yet each time is new. Maybe the pandemic has left us all wanting for contact with people other than ourselves, other than our group. Our friends in the mountains have never been more open, more inviting. It was incredible how they invited us into their homes to share with us traditions and experiences usually reserved for the family and close community. We were strangers in a dangerous time and they asked us in. Our human need for connection with others is stronger than this plague. Thank you again Ernesto. Szymon and Ray thank you for sharing with me your inspiration and talents. May Pacha Mama bring us and our cameras together.

There are many places in the world where land and people intertwine, separated by the thinnest of lines. Here in the mountains of Peru’s Sacred Valley that line vanishes. People and land are as one, as though these children of the ancients are not flesh and blood but earth and stone. Here, they remember the myths and the wisdom they hold. To photograph this is a gift, made all the more rare by Ernesto’s infallible knack for earning the trust of our subjects, who inevitably admit us and grant us passage. This was my second workshop with Ernesto. As with the first, I learned from him and my fellow students, and returned home anticipating the next journey.

Lamas, mountains, sheep and rivers, clouds with wind, stars with moon, the milky way, smiling sun, the warm local people, great friends from the other side of Earth and finally Ernesto, all of this gave me a magic feeling to enjoy every seconds in the Sacred Valley… Each day we had blessings from somewhere which gave us to see spectacular things… After every beautiful day we talked about the wonder that we had met along our way. I was also very pleased with Ernesto giving me photographic advice in our morning editing sessions from the frames which we took the day before. I found here something more then a photographic workshop and I cannot not find words to describe it because it is something special which gives me a world where I have been never before… Thank You Ernesto to take me there and thanks that Our Planet have people like You! This workshop will be staying within me forever…
